mimosa pudica

He used to say the world would be better if humans were like mimosa pudica, a flowering weed whose leaves fold down and shut when touched. People wouldn't get too near to each other, and everything would be easier.  The specimen they kept at the Botanical Garden died recently, overstressed by people wanting to see it perform its bashful move. I don't know if this confirms his theory.

(picture by Suda Issei, hollyhock, not mimosa at all. Rose trémière, nom qui viendrait, peut-être, de rose d'outremer. elles sont chinoises, les belles)
